CITY Director and Professor, Linda Peake was recently featured in the 'Year in Review' section of the January 8th edition of Novae Res Urbis. Peake explains that "cities in the GTA are badly in need of a feminist intervention, making cities more navigable and friendly toward women. Construction of the west segment of the Mississauga Transitway begins. A new heritage restoration project in Hamilton off ers market-rent housing for artists at 95 King Street East. Whitby considers creating a new downtown heritage district—Werden’s Plan Neighbourhood District - depending on feedback from residents in the coming months. Caledon council approves an application by Olympia Sand and Gravel to rezone 293 acres of land to allow Melville Pit, much to the chagrin of residents.”
